Ever wondered what its like to play Golf? No, me neither. But I have played the better known cousin Pub Golf which I highly recommend to everyone.
1st November - Golfing across Didsbury
For those of you who have not been played before, we play for the fabled Green Jacket. The Green Jacket will be awarded to the player standing with the least points at the end of the course.
========================= BASICS =========================================
We will be playing a 9 hole (pub) course over the evening through the picturesque didsbury village. Each pub will have a defined beverage and a par. To meet par you will need to consume said beverage in that number of mouthfuls. Each mouthful counts as a stroke.
E.g.
Mystery Pub 1 - Double Gin & Tonic - par 3
If a player consumes the Double in 2 gulps (strokes) then he/she scores 2 for the hole (and in golfing terms is now 1 under par).
Players will be required to form small teams of four (ish). Each team will receive a score card. The team must all stay together at all times.
Full golfing attire is essential. So no collar-less t-shirts or jeans. Gloves and visors are recommended.
========================= THE EXTRAS =======================================
Any player unable to finish their drink at a hole will end the hole on a score of seven (7)
Any player my opt to play a half/single in place of a pint/double at a two stroke penalty (+2).
Any player caught being sick in public view (excluding toilets) results in a two stroke penalty (+2). This is a sophisticated pass time after all.
========================= THE BUNKER BALL ==================================
A ping pong ball stays with the players throughout the night. To bunker ball someone the player throws/drops the ball into the targets drink, the target takes a one stroke penalty (+1) OR must drink an extra shot at that hole. The target then becomes the bunker ball controller.
The bunker ball may only be used once per hole per person and may not be applied to a player currently putting/driving (drinking).
If a bunker ball controller misses his targets beverage then the misser must take the penalty instead, the target still becomes the new controller.
