After 4 wins on the bounce, Didsbury were buoyed to return to the mighty Fortress Armitage after a successful away trip to Keswick.
The fun bus antics came at a price... but with no fit full backs, the makeshift Didsbury defense still made a solid start against the unbeaten Northern side.
Didsbury dominated without ever fully clicking in attack, but after 20 minutes they made the breakthrough off a lucky deflection from Robin Broom’s shot. Despite this it was an off colour first half, but a half time conflab and many an energy tablet meant Didsbury were out of the traps quickly in the second half.
Relentless pressure at a short corner led to Chris Fynn deflecting in for his first goal for the green and whites. A stoic performance as a stand in full back from Ben Barnes was momentarily blighted by a well worked breakaway goal from northern. However Didsbury were able to tough it out and secure both a third goal through new man Oli Martin, and the overall win by a margin of 3 goals to one. The result leaves Didsbury with a 100% record from 5 games and heading for a tough lakes away trip next Saturday.
The converted DoD prize went to Andy Spencer for his poor level of mathematics, truly proving the University of Manchester are wasting their time and money on him.
