Robin moonlighting as a postman!

Somethings never change...

The 4s keep scoring goals.
The 4s keep stopping teams from scoring goals.
The 4s captain is always late with some hockey related excuse generally around handling another man’s ball bag.
Most importantly this means the 4s keep winning!

This week was no different it was Top vs Bottom when the 4s took on Formby 4s away. We got off to a late start with our captain arriving late (cue ball bag excuse), and Oli having misread the meet time meaning he drove himself and missed out on £5 in driver compensation. Some people took the fast route while Robin took the ECO route being the good Skoda driving Uber driver he is. The extreme leg room for his back seat passengers and 610 litre boot space meant he could arrive with half of the teams kit and his players without showing any signs of stiffness. This clearly counted for sweet F all when DOD votes came, so despite all the Skoda brought to the team Robin won DOD for driving that sweet piece of Czech muscle.

The 1st half was a definite case of attack vs defence with Formby committing 10 players behind at all times, fortunately after a slow start the goals started flowing and Dids went into half time 5-0 up. So dominant was the display that Joe our keeper was fortunate enough to receive a back pass for his only touch of the game. The highlight of the half was debutant Laurence (not of Arabia) scoring his first 4s goal.

In the second half Dids made some positional changes and the half started with a bang and some silky smooth passing sequences that resulted in 2 quick fire goals. We then proceeded to try and go for more goals and be a bit more direct which as so often is the case resulted in goals drying up. This did not stop MOM Chris Fynn scoring his second goal of the match and delivering a complete performance in the mid field. He may be too young to drive a car, but drive this team going forward he most certainly can!

The defence once again only had to marshall one attacker, but you can only play what is in front of you and they managed to add another clean sheet to thier tally.

Another week another win and we now have an 8 point cushion going at the top of the table!
