Day 2 of the new season started against city of Manchester 3s who last time out won 10-1 ; this fact was mostly concealed by the Captain in order to maintain morale.
Didsburys pre-match routine during the week was primarily focused on getting team memberships. A resounding success for this match day squad.
The team lineup saw a late drop-out of Akhil due to squash related injury, we hope him well in recovery, which opened up a sub spot for Lewis for his debut due to some admin miscommunication in other teams.
Long story short, communication was much improved, the wingers were pacey and caused problems, the defence were as solid as ever. Indeed the team was That Solid there was no joker nominations of any note! Good chances were created on the wings with poacher Tim Nash getting on the end of someone's good work to put the ball in the net.
Jacques made headlines for his first flick save! Tom showed throughout cracker cricket skills batting balls away on his debut at left back, which bodes well for his enforced position of a wing defender this year!
The unresolved news headline is Joe returning to face the team he captained last year.. booed by opposition supporters on the sidelines... It Will be interesting how tempers flare on the "away" armitage leg... Maybe that's what eventually happens to all captains of teams.. this captain hopefully won't be in place long enough to see that happen to him..
