Tim scores off the bench as Didsbury recover in second half for a 1-1 draw.

Away to Urmston, now much like a home match for any of the returning players and a sodden pitch. A welcome return for steve to the 7s, albeit as umpire since former 6s captain Matt ran into him last year during a match!

The big call prior to the match was the selection of Victor at CF in place of 3 game in a row goalscorer Tim Nash and the only 7s player with goals for the 7s. This decision was made in light of unavailability in 2 of the next 3 and a dazzling display in training by VM..
Didsbury thinking they found their Gabriel Jesus.

The first half was sloppy. Urmston playing long balls straight to their strikers as their best player got crocked. The "get it wide" pre-match conversation left out for the first week ever and it became everyone chasing down the middle . Jandy went really close with a flicked shot off a short corner, Urmston score off a short corner. Words at half time.

Big words was had at half time from captain and stand in talkers for half time tactical team talks Tim and Jandy. A tactical adjustment was had to go back to the starting linup but have tim at cf move Victor on the left, to more like the standard X11.

From the off the second half was much improved. More communication. Balls initially going simply out to the right midfield and being worked up the line . Again Urmston just hitting long balls being mopped up by Luke or Rob, but more shielding being given as well by the midfield.

The goal eventually came from didsbury 10 or 15 mins into the half, a run from Sagar with the midfield of Patrick and Mark running, Patrick ordered to do the selfless run to give the option up the line. This left open the Square ball to Mark who somehow managed to accurately pass to tim who then turned around, to his right around the defender and dispatched into the bottom corner! Arguably anyone else would have made that turn and decided to try hit a reverse!

Good runs again made in the left after that goal and anything else mopped up by combinations of defenders or any of the rotating midfield. The only chance for Urmston was a short corner.

A final last chance unfortunately couldnt just fall to jandy (now up front rotated at this point with Tim) as the Urmston number 7, a real class player, was finally talked, the jab tackle the ball just bouncing away from jandy.

1 point that easily should have been 3; onto the Urmston 3s at home without top goalscorer Tim (with city vs Villa as the lunchtime kick off).
Motn: tim for the goal
Dod/joker; unanimously Sagar for slipping and giving an Urmston player a 2 footed slide tackle
