The mighty 2s went out fighting,
But again couldn’t go back to the northern for a bev ??

The first half saw some great play from the ladies in green, Rainy, Jade, Charlie Kate, Ali, Mills et al. working the wings and some lovely triangles across the pitch meant we were on top of them for the first 15. Yet we kept our cool after some questionable Urmy umpiring and scrappy play from the away team followed by a goal from the away team. The mighty 2s pulled it back to make it a draw going into the half time whistle with a cheeky little finish from Mary.?

Some fighting talk from Kate at half time and great talk from the back line was strong through the squad in the second half meant the mighty 2s looked back on good form. Some great saves were seen from Helen all game, and switching the ball nicely around the back between Kat VB and Kathryn created some good chances for the mids to fly high up the wings with some slick skills from Julie in the middle. Unfortunately the 2s couldn’t get it in the net and urmston bagged another 2 goals for themselves whilst VB bagged herself a green card ??‍♀️. 3-1 down the mighty 2s fought back hard, with great commitment from everyone to claw back the score line fighting hard to win each 50-50 ball and smashing our short sharp passes the 2s could smell their next goal. A couple of our beautiful straight strikes by Mills and Kathryn being stopped by their defence urmston weren’t at all prepared for the killer corner wonderfully set up Collins slipping the ball to Jax bringing the 2s back to 3-2.
After some shovey play from Urmston, Jay and Kate put them in place but unfortunately the clock ran out and the mighty 2s would have to wait until the next week to claim their well earned victory ??
