The Didsbury Northern 3XI begin a new season with a a new league, new formation and new members. The new formation has definitely won the hearts of the team.
The first half of the game consisted of the team adjusting to the new formation and members. The opposition had some questionable tackles that the umpires failed to acknowledged this could have been because the umpires could not see the orange ball. This ball then changed to white and the umpires could not see this either but not to worry a yellow ball saved the game. The thirds won a couple of shorts that didn’t go to plan. Then a goal from tip top touch from Charlie left the team at 1-0 at half time.
The teams fire (in their belly) was relight by Vana’s half time talk. The fire had the team wanting the ball, wanting the win. With Milly and Vana being man marked in the middle left the team using the wings. Some great balls in to the d were missed by post players. Some great balls from the defence up the wings lead the the majority of the second half was in the oppositions half. The fire over came Milly when Didsbury Northern had a long corner and she ran in to the d and pinged the ball bottom left corner. Then another goal from hard work from the forwards and mids with Brittney creating great opportunities. Didsbury Northern put a lot of pressure on the opposition and once gained possession another goal came from Ali which left Didsbury Northern 4-0 at full time. Great start to the season.
